Well, I think my subconscious cares. I grew up with pokemon and neopets and digimon and gameboy pockets that hardly fit in my pockets. Now that I'm older and watching newer, slimmer, fancier consoles and handheld machines being produced I can't help but wonder what is happening to the video game industry. I don't want a handheld device that can play movies, music, or take pictures. I want a device that plays games. Good games!
All the games coming out for the Nintendo DSlite are all for your brain. Whatever happened to brainless button mashing games? Or games that used your noggin but didn't blatantly advertise it as such (like Zelda or Tetris).
Maybe I'm just old school or jealous that I'm too poor to update to the next best thing, but I quite like having my lime green game boy colour on the train and playing pokemon pinball in hopes of capturing that ever elusive ponyta... I have no idea where to get one of those.. ugh!
So keep your Drawn to Life and stupid Puzzles and pictures on your Nintendo DS's, at least my handheld device is an ACTUAL gameboy. A true revolutionary of its time.
